Go Team Argos!

We ran our marathon RELAY in the Mayor's Marathon this last Saturday, which was also the longest day of the year, June 21st. Patrick had the first leg. So we woke up bright and early, pulled Kate out of bed, and headed over to the start at Bartlett High School.
Patrick talking to Ian and Harmony, shortly before the start. Ian had the second leg, and he and Harmony came out bright and early too... Being at the starting line was so exciting! Aaahhh, smells like race day! It was neat to see all these tons of people out to run, warming up, jittery, etc... The smell of the cool summer morning air waiting just a little longer to shower us with some rain, the music, the announcer, the long line of porta pottys and racers waiting to use them (maybe you'll understand that one if you're a runner), the anticipation and excitement at the start line, and finally the gun! Their off! Here we go! Everyone jumps in their cars to slowly escape the parking lot and head to the next point...

In between Patrick's and my leg I went home to feed Kate and stuff... Then Patrick and Harmony picked me up to go to my hand off spot. Harmony has pictures of Ian and Patrick Handing off...

Waiting for Ian to hand off to me for my leg... I was feeling those old race time jitters and pre-race anxiousness... Though not NEARLY as bad, but just a taste for a dose of some good nostalgia...
Good job Ian! Yay! I'm off for 5.6 miles!
All done and in good time. Yay! Go Amanda!
Hydrating on our way to the finish line to cheer Amanda in.
At the finish, waiting for Amanda...
This is the whole gang, going to find Amanda after she finished...
Awe:) We used to take pictures like this after our races in high school:) Now we are married mommies:)
Team Argos (Greek for "Slow" ha ha). Ian, Patrick, Me, Amanda. Good job team!
