Her First Prayer

We pray as a family at night before Kate goes to bed. We say "Let's pray" and she immediately grabs our hands and bows her head ever so intensely, eyes open looking down.

A few weeks ago (I know, I'm such a late blogger!) she grabbed our hands, bowed her head, and began babbling. We immediately looked at each other with astonishment, amazement, parental pride and sentiment as we realized that our daughter was praying out loud for the first time, and by her own initiative... What a precious moment, we will never forget.

Our greatest joy would be for our children to know the Lord and give their life to Him (3 John 1:4). So we will teach them His ways (Deuteronomy 6:6-7) fervently praying that they will choose Him and make our faith their own one day.

Below is a video of that night. Its not the first time when she did it on her own, but she kept doing it over and over, so I ran to get the camera and was able to capture it. She saw us smiling in amazement after she first did it, and thought that was great. So then she kept doing it, and laughing. It took a little prodding to get her to do it again, so we could get it on camera. Grandma (my Mom) was praying with us that night too. What a precious and wonderful time.
