Ok, Lucy, stop complaining. The pay off is beautiful... and I won't complain about all the people packed atop to see it, ahem.
Downtown Waikiki... It's neat to see the coast and so much of the Island all at once...
Coming back, watch the Sweeters head!
Out of the tunnel...
Having some yummy pineapple under the shade of a tree because I was sunburned...
Loves walking by herself like a big girl!
We then drove to Waikiki and walked the strip, stopping at a bunch of shops.
Kate just chillin', kicking her feet up and taking in the sights... The beach is just across the street. It was fun walking the strip, but we were both so happy that our resort was 30 minutes away from the city. Thanks Pam!
Grabbed a Burger at "Cheeseburger In Paradise". Playing "Pat a Cake" with Kate...
"Mark it with a K..."
Kate did NOT like the sand. At all. Freaked out if it touched her and frantically tried to brush it off... When trying to get her to stand on it, to make her like it, she just pulled her feet up as high as they would go the closer she got to the sand, pretty funny... to us, not to her.
Not to sure about sitting so close to the enemy and watching the sand like a hawk, eventually cried to be picked up...
So... it turned out to be a great babysitter because she was content to play on the beach chairs.
Awe so sweet and silly... She isn't asleep, she's just playing.
Or she also played on her stroller... One day she was climbing up the back of it, holding onto the handle bars and Mommy and Daddy, though close by, were not being vigilant... All of a sudden the stroller tipped back on the hind wheels and Kate did a complete face plant, like a plain crashing nose first into the Saharra, into the sand... Hubs and I paused just long enough to give eachother the same nonverbal look for a nanosecond. In that nano second it is amazing how many things the mind can think... "(Shock)Ah! What the heck! Why weren't you watching her. I should have been paying attention. What do we do. She hates the sand. Its gonna be all in her face, mouth, nose. I hope it doesn't get in her eye. I wonder if it hurt. She's gonna cry. Pick her up quick! Brush her off hurry! Just hold and hug her tight to make her know everything is ok, and that despite the fact that Mommy and Daddy carelessly let her face plant into her worst fear, we in fact do love her... " Ok, look over. Daddy quickly picks her up... Lots of sand... lots of crying... hugs and reassurance... poor baby... but....kinda funny...
Daddy and his little girl... Awe...
Hubs ventured out onto the reef...
We watched the sunset...
Bundled Kate up in her stroller and walked around for a little bit that evening before making our way back to the hotel.
Little Miss...
